Computer Science on MASSOLIT

We’re delighted to announce that Computer Science has launched on MASSOLIT!

This subject launches with 8 courses covering key topics for A Level Computer Science which have been designed alongside the AQA, Cambridge International, and OCR specifications. Here are some highlights:

• Artificial Intelligence: Deep Learning – explore the foundations and frontiers of generative AI, covering early creative systems, GANs, diffusion models, and large language models, highlighting their principles, applications, and transformative impact.
• The Ethics of Information – examine the ethics of information, censorship, and surveillance, exploring the balance between freedom and harm, challenges of online moderation, and responsible design in technology.
• Dijkstra Algorithm for Graphs – this course introduces Dijkstra’s algorithm, covering graph theory fundamentals, the step-by-step process for finding shortest paths, and the algorithm’s correctness and efficiency.

A further 10 courses will be added to this collection in the coming months, covering topics such as fundamentals of computing, theory of computation and big data.

Meet some of our expert academics

Dr Joseph Maguire – Associate Professor in Computing Science within the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow working at the intersection of security, privacy and education.

Dr Laure Daviaud – Associate Professor in Computing Sciences at the University of East Anglia. Her research interests lie in automata theory and logic, with a particular focus on weighted automata and problems around the decidability of comparison and minimisation and the theory of learning.

Dr James Archbold – Associate Professor in Computing Sciences at Warwick University. His research interests lie in the topic of agent based systems known as influence spread. This involves the modelling of ideas, diseases and other concepts as they spread through a social network.
